The CD (Credit with No Stock Return) order type is used to credit the customer account using information from the original invoice when no inventory will be returned to stock; i.e. to correct pricing or when items will be discarded or destroyed in field vs returned.
Enter a CD (Credit with No Stock Return) type order
- Navigate to Sales Orders > Transactions > Sales Orders and create a new CD (Credit with No Stock Return) type order. (Alternatively, select the New Credit Memo tile from the Sales Orders menu.)
- Enter the required header information:
- Customer
- Location
- Date (use the original invoice date when correcting a transaction processed in error)
- Customer Order number (PO)
- Any other applicable fields

- Use 'Add Invoice' to search for and select the original Invoice Number in the AR Doc Nbr. field.

- Select the lines to be credited or use the select all option to add items
- Ensure all applicable lot/serial numbers are included.
- Select Add & Close to bring the selected items into the CD order.

Create the Customer Credit Memo
- Click Prepare Invoice from the CD Order window.
- This action generates a new Credit Memo in the SO Invoices screen.
- Review the Credit Memo and confirm all details and the total credited amount.
- Release the Credit Memo

- Apply the Credit Memo to the original invoice, if it is being used to correct an error in the initial transaction. If not applied, the credit will show on the customer account for future use.
